          Shimano Dura-Ace 9100 SPD-SL Pedals
          $280.00

Shimano's finest Dura-Ace SPD-SL road pedals were used (and abused) by pro-level riders over hundreds of thousands of miles before finally being released to the public.

With wins in Classics, Grand Tours, World Championships, Olympics, and Ironman triathlons, the Dura-Ace R9100 SPD-SL pedal has proven itself as the ultimate workhorse as well as a feather-weight climber's dream. Criterium racers will appreciate the pedal's low profile for pedaling out of tight turns as well as supreme stiffness. The stainless steel spindle is anchored by 3 sets of bearings, ensuring long pedal life. The wide platform reduces foot "roll", helping to keep rotational injuries at bay. Included with the Dura-Ace R9100 SPD-SL pedals is a pair of MC12 SPD-SL cleats with 2 degrees of "float". Standard SH-11 cleats (sold separately) with 6 degrees of float can also work with these pedals. There are no wrench flats on the stainless steel axles, so an 8mm allen wrench is needed for installation. Release tension can be adjusted with a 2.5mm allen wrench at the cleat retainer on the back of the pedal. Toal weight for a pair of Dura-Ace R9100 pedals: 224grams.

This product has a 3 year warranty against manufacturer's defects.

          Shimano Ultegra R8000 Pedals
          $200.00

Delivering the rider's power to the drivetrain is the task of every pedal out there. Shimano's Ultegra pedals just do it better than most.

Reducing rotational weight is something Shimano wanted to do with the new R8000 Ultegra pedal as well as provide a stiff platform. They used short-fiber carbon fiber material for the pedal body, reducing weight a further 12 grams/pair. Stainless steel wear plates keep the pedal looking fresher for longer, and are lighter than the 6800-series pedals. The stainless steel axle resists flex even further, ensuring no power loss in the drivetrain. An 8mm hex wrench is needed for installation, and a classic pedal wrench won't work as the Ultegra pedal has no wrench flats for further weight reduction. The tension of the retaining binder at the back of the pedal is adjustable with a 2.5mm allen wrench. The stack height is .7mm less than the 6800-series pedals, allowing the rider to feel even more connected to the bike. Shimano's SPD-SL cleats (included) offer 6 degrees of float. The Ultegra pedal comes with a 2 year manufacturer's warranty.

          Shimano PD-ES600 Pedal
          $100.00

SPD pedals on high-performance road bikes have been a combination for decades. Most riders looking for a walkable cycling shoe are interested in SPD cleats and the corresponding pedals. But double-sided SPD mountain pedals tend to carry around more weight due to two sets of cleat bindings. Plus, the cornering clearence isn't as good as classic road pedals. Shimano's ES600 pedal is the obvious choice to get the best of both worlds. At only 279 grams for the pair (lighter than the previous version), the ES600 rivals many high-performance road systems, and is lighter than a pair of XTR mountain bike pedals. The spindle is also a high-grade stainless steel alloy, and uses sealed cartridge bearings for long service life. Pedal binding tension can be adjusted with a 3mm allen wrench at the back of the retaining clip. There are no wrench flats on the spindle, but the ES600's can be installed with an 8mm allen wrench. A pair of Shimano SPD cleats is included.

          Shimano PD-R550 SPD-SL Pedals
          $100.00

Clipless pedals can allow an unexpected increase in performance for any bicycle. By selecting road pedals over mountain pedals (and heavier, softer mountain shoes), power transfer is improved over every pedal stroke. Triathletes, time trial racers, competitive and recreational road cyclists can all benefit from pedals that deliver flex-free power delivery. The pedal-to-cleat interface found with Shimano's SPD-SL pedals offers a large surface area to deliver power when compared to mountain bike cleats and pedals. That large cleat and binding also makes clipping in easy to learn, espcially with the adjustable binding release. A 2.5mm allen wrench is all that's needed to make the cleat easier or harder to release and engage.

The PD-R550 pedal body is made from a carbon composite material that is lighter than aluminum and just as durable. The tapered edge offers a 34 degree pedaling clearance; useful when pedaling through a shallow curve. Stainless steel inserts protect the pedal body from accumulated dirt collected on cleats. The included cleats are Shimano's SH-SM11 "yellow" cleats that offer 6 degrees of float when engaged into the pedals. 3-bolt installation hardware is included. Total weight for a pair of pedals: 310 grams

Now all you need are shoes. Machinery Row Bicycles has a wide selection of Shimano and Bontrager road and triathlon shoes. Please call for model and size availability.
