Trek's new FX Sport 5 is what happens when you let the dreamers loose in the design studio. It checks all the boxes when it comes to a multi-purpose bike that performs beyond all expectations. Ultralight 400 Series carbon fiber is used to build the frame and FX carbon fiber fork. With it, every hill is more conquerable, every incline becomes easier. OCLV carbon fiber isn't just about lightness, though. Strength is a major part of what makes any bike perform better. Pedaling response is better, and overall handling is more precise. The FX Sport 5's BB86.5 bottom bracket anchors the crankset for flex-free power delivery, while the tapered head tube adds an extra dash of precision in every turn. 400 Series carbon fiber is already known for soaking up vibration, but the addition of the IsoSpeed decoupler at the top of the seat tube improves ride quality further. A pair of cartridge bearings allow the seat tube to pivot independently from the rest of the frame, doubling frame compliance and soaking up harsh bumps and potholes on rides long and short. A light, responsive bike that is also comfortable? The FX Sport 5 does it all! Details found throughout the bike make the FX Sport 5 a better machine in many ways. Vanishing fender mounts and a removeable seatstay bridge allow fender installation, making the bike an excellent commuting option. A 3S chain keeper prevents dropped chains, roadside stops and grimy fingers. There's even an aperture for an ANT+ DuoTrap S speed/cadence sensor in the left chainstay (sold separately). 12mm thru-axle hubs front and rear not only guarantee perfect brake disc alignment whenever wheels are installed, but also enhance the bike's overall torsional strength. Internal cable routing adds a clean, sleek look to the bike.
With such an impressive frame, the rest of the FX Sport 5 needed to perform just as well. Shimano's 10-speed Tiagra components are found throughout the FX Sport 5, adding precise operation and shifting with every mile. The Tiagra flat-bar shifters, Tiagra derailleurs, 50/34T compact Tiagra crankset and 11-34T Tiagra cassette all work in concert, ensuring long service life as well as a very wide gearing range for hilly rides. Alloy tubeless-ready Bontrager Affinity Disc wheels and 700x32c R1 Hard-Case Lite tires add confident grip and easy acceleration. Reigning in speed is the job of Shimano's MT201 hydraulic disc brakes, boasting outstanding stopping power and lever feedback. Bontrager also supplies the Montrose Comp saddle, alloy seatpost, alloy Satellite Plus IsoZone handlebar and accessory-ready alloy Elite Blendr stem.

Is it a fitness bike? High-performance commuter bike? Flat-bar disc-brake road bike? Yes.
Trek's new FX Sport Carbon 4 brings simplicity and lightness to performance road hybrids with an extra dose of technology. Impressive lightness is gained when the FX Sport 4 is produced with a 400 Series carbon fiber frame and FX carbon fiber fork. With it, every hill is more conquerable with less effort. Shimano supplies the FX Sport Carbon 4's rugged and precise 11-speed GRX drivetrain, ensuring brilliant performance for years to come. The drivetrain is single-ring style, bringing simplicity while still boasting a wide gearing range. A Shimano RS700 flat-bar shifter operates a GRX RX812 long-cage rear derailleur, requiring much less hand strength to change gears. The rear derailleur boasts a clutch that keeps chain tension tight for perfect shifts, even while clattering over rough trails and railway crossings. An 11-42T Shimano SLX cassette and 42T GRX crankset brings a very wide gearing range to the FX Sport Carbon 4.Bontrager brings a Tubeless Ready Disc alloy wheelset to the FX Sport Carbon 4, ensuring high performance and durability. Helping to reign in speed is a set of Shimano hydraulic disc brakes that perform in all conditions, rain or shine.
The FX Sport Carbon 4's touch points are the last line of defense against road harshness. A Bontrager H1 saddle and Satellite IsoZone Plus ergonomic grips handle long days on pavement (or off!) with aplomb.
